Town dedicates park to Keith Koster

Boxford officials and residents gathered recently to dedicate the recreational complex at 10 Stiles Pond Road as Keith Koster Park.

Koster was killed last year by Roy Dowds Jr., who was trying to steal the 20-year-old's SUV in Danvers.

The Koster family built up the complex that includes a beach, concession stand and Little League field at Stiles Pond, through years of service via the Boxford Athletic Association.

On May 23, Keith's three older brothers, twins Ricky and Kevin, 26, and Brian, 25, removed a green tarp from the sign to reveal a colorful, carved relief of Keith and the words "Keith Koster Park" in gold letters.

The area around the sign had been landscaped by Kevin Spencer of Grounds Corp. Landscaping of Boxford, said Richard Koster, who said his son spent every summer at the beach.

"Keith, the whole family, put a lot of time down here," said Richard, his father.
